Chinet Giveaway Extended until the end of this week!

I’m sure everyone is in crunch time getting ready for the long last official weekend of summer! If you’re like me, then I’m sure you are all running around getting last minute school supplies, new shoes, haircuts, and at the same time squeezing in one more lazy day BBQ with your friends and neighbors. SO, with that in mind I have decided to extend the giveaway to the end of this week! Enter now by liking Sweet Boochie’s Facebook page!

Modern Farmer’s Market Playdate with Chinet Giveaway!

One of my favorite things about summer is picking up our CSA farmshare box to see what wonderful bounty was picked for that week. I LOVE the fresh, local vegetables that we receive and feel so good feeding my family with these healthy goodies. It seems like everywhere you look there is a new Farmer’s Market stand popping up, which lead me to the theme of our next Picture Perfect Playdate. I wanted to give it a modern, sleek touch vs. the rustic images you would imagine with this farmer’s market theme. As always, Veronica Huang from Veronica Huang Photography captured everything beautifully.

I started by doing a few DIY projects such as the white stand made from $1 foam board from the Dollar Tree, as well as the berry garland using red pom yarn and shamrock felt buttons. I also decided to make “shovels” for cupcake toppers using lollipop sticks that I cut and glued to make handles and used craft paper to make the shovel part which I then stamped “dig in”. I found these great fruit gumballs at Home Goods which were perfect to add to the cupcakes as well as plastic tubes as favors for the kiddos.

For the sweet treats I used Chinet’s Cut Crystal 9oz cups to hold chocolate pudding and cookie crumbles to resemble the “dirt” to the beautiful vegetable cookies that Dolce and Biscotti made. I also made cupcakes with my shovel toppers and served apple juice using Chinet’s Cut Crystal 14 oz cups.

Activities included some “farming” for the girls. At each place setting I had material for the girls to plant some seeds of their own favorite fruit/vegetable. And the day wouldn’t be complete without a farmer’s potato sack race! The girls had a great time hopping to the finish line, which I made using Chinet’s Classic white dessert plates. I folded the plates in half and cut them on the diagonal and hot glued them to some polka dot ribbon that matched the table runner. It was a perfect way for them to enjoy these last few weeks of summer!

Crafty Thursday – Stars and Stripes

Veronica and I decided to pull together a last-minute 4th of July Picture Perfect Playdate that we will hold at a local park.  I decided to first “shop” my house for some props before heading out to any store, and wanted to share this “star transformation” that I worked on yesterday.  Whew, I’m so glad I didn’t let my husband throw those stars out!

A Very Berry Playdate

We finally had a stretch of warm weather this weekend, so Veronica and I decided to host our own “berry” fun playdate for our girls. They enjoyed some strawberry applesauce, raspberry sorbet and pink lemonade.  I surprised the girls with a basket of MY original Strawberry Shortcake dolls from when I was a little girl! They were so thrilled to play with them! Check out more photos on Veronica’s site http://www.vhuangphoto.com/p702528253/h5d14906c#h5d14906c

Picture Perfect Playdates!

I’m so excited to announce a new project that I am working on with my fabulous photographer, Veronica Huang.  She’s a beautiful children’s lifestyle photographer who has shot many of my styled parties that have then gone on to be featured on well known websites.  We decided our creative style worked well together to bring forward lovely, unique images that we wanted to bring to many more families.   The idea is Picture Perfect Playdates!  And the way it works is that you host a playdate with your friends (and their kids of course) at either your home or a nearby park, I will add some simple, stylized elements in a theme, (as well as snacks, an activity  and take home favors) and Veronica will capture all the wonderful children at play in their natural environment, making the images authentic, personal and real. She has a true talent of finding the moments that showcase your child and their personalities and bring so much more than any image you can get from a traditional photos.   The result is an extraordinary playdate experience.
If you or anyone you know are interested in hosting a playdate to receive free prints and products, or if you have any questions, please contact Veronica directly at 518.406.6461 or email pictureperfectplaydates@gmail.com.
