I took advantage of yesterday’s sunny and warm weather to decorate our front porch for the holidays. Kept it classic and simple using a swag over the doorway, some lanterns that we’ve had for many years and an urn planter that I filled with greenery, dried hydrangea and holly from our yard as well as some birch branches my neighbor had given me. The new additions this year are the deer door knocker and the plaid outdoor rug.

If you follow sweetboochie on Instagram I did a reel on how I updated this door swag by removing the old ivy and red berries and adding in white berries and a velvet burgundy ribbon. I attached it to the door using a tiny 3M command hook found here. I added in tiny battery operated lights that are on a timer. I picked up this deer door knocker at JoAnn’s Fabric but truth be told I think it might be a towel ring holder? – ha!, but I hung it anyway. However, I did find some real deer door knockers on amazon here.

Lanterns are always such a classic Christmas look to me. You can place battery operated candles on a timer in them to light up the walkway for guests.

I love the new plaid outdoor rug from Walmart – you can find it by clicking here. It is very affordable ($14), seems very durable, was the perfect size, and I just love the classic pattern. It’s a nice fresh way to welcome guests in for the holidays!
